Motorists will experience delays with each project. If traveling across the entire corridor, the cumulative delay may reach up to 2 hours depending on traffic volumes. Caltrans encourages motorists to factor in additional travel times along the I-80 Sierra corridor and check QuickMap for real-time roadway information. Here is the breakdown for next week in geographical order: Eastbound I-80 · Blue Canyon Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Heather Glen and Canyon Way/Placer Hills Road, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, May 31 through Thursday, June 4. Work is also scheduled from 10 p.m. Friday, June 5 to 7 a.m. Saturday, June 6. · Alta Pavement Improvement Project between Canyon Way/Placer Hills Road and Cape Horn Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 1 through Wednesday, June 3. · Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project · Between Monte Vista and Drum Forebay, various lane closures are scheduled around the clock from 6 a.m. Monday, June 1 through 10 a.m. Friday, June 5. · Crystal Springs on- and off-ramps are closed until further notice. Motorists will detour eastbound to Baxter and return westbound on I-80 to Crystal Springs. · Drum Forebay on- and off-ramps are closed until further notice. Motorists will detour eastbound to the next available exit and return westbound on I- 80 to Drum Forebay. · Drum Forebay Drainage Restoration Project near Whitmore maintenance yard, reduced to one lane around the clock from 6 a.m. Monday, June 1 through 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4. · Blue Canyon Pavement Rehabilitation Project · Between the Whitmore maintenance yard and Nyack, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, May 31 through Thursday, June 4. Work is also scheduled from 10 p.m. Friday, June 5 to 7 a.m. Saturday, June 6. · Blue Canyon Road is scheduled to be closed around the clock from 10 p.m. Sunday, May 31 to noon Friday, June 5. · Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project, the eastbound I-80 off-ramp to westbound State Route 20 (SR 20) is scheduled to be closed around the clock from 6 a.m. Monday, June 1 through 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 3. Motorists will detour along eastbound I-80 to Eagle Lakes Road, then head back westbound on I-80 and take the off-ramp to westbound SR 20. · Soda Springs Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Troy and Soda Springs, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled around the clock from 6 p.m. Sunday, May 31 to 1 p.m. Friday, June 5. Westbound I-80 · Emergency Culvert/Rockfall Project · Between the Nevada County line and Farad, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 1 through Thursday, June 4. · Between Floriston and Hinton Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5. · Drum Forebay Drainage Restoration Project · Near Kingvale, various lane closures are scheduled around the clock from 7 a.m. Tuesday, June 2 through 7 p.m. Friday, June 19. · Near Rainbow Road, various lane closures are currently in place around the clock until 5 p.m. Friday, June 5. · Yuba Pass Separation Overhead Bridge Project, off-ramp at Yuba Gap is closed until further notice due to the crossover in place along westbound I-80. Motorists will detour westbound to Emigrant Gap and return eastbound on I-80 to Yuba Gap. · Monte Vista Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Drum Forebay and Monte Vista, various lane closures are scheduled from 3 p.m. to 9 a.m. Monday, June 1 through Thursday, June 4. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 9 a.m. Friday, June 5. · Alta Pavement Improvement Project between State Route 174 and Canyon Way/Placer Hills Road, various lane closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 1 and Tuesday, June 2. · Blue Canyon Pavement Rehabilitation Project between Canyon Way/Placer Hills Road and Heather Glen, various lane and ramp closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday, June 2 through Thursday, June 4. Work is scheduled to end for the week at 6 a.m. Friday, June 5. The extended lane closures will help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers’ safety. The schedule is subject to change or be delayed due to weather, availability of materials or other unexpected events. Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
