Re:Part 12D Periodic Inspection Pre-Inspection Preparation Report –Round Valley
Dear Mr.Cruzen:
This is in response to a letter dated June 03, 2026,from Mr.Robert Ellis that
submitted the Periodic Inspection Pre-Inspection Preparation Report (PI-PIPR)for the
3rd Part 12D Independent Consultant’s (IC) safety inspection of Round Valley Dam,
which is part of the DeSabla-Centerville Project, FERC No. 803.
We have reviewed the PI-PIPR,and we find it generally acceptable;and
demonstrates that the IC Team is adequately prepared for the inspection. However, we
have the following comments which should be addressed in the final Part 12D Periodic
Inspection Report (PIR):
1.Include the IC team’s assessment for piezometric trends observed in Figure D-
9. In addition,the IC team noted an 11foot difference in tip elevation for
piezometer B1. Evaluate the existing data and determine if any changes to the
data or instrumentation are required.
2.E-file the referenced MGS-Brava 2025 report for the hydrologic hazard.
No response is required to this letter. The Part 12D field inspection may continue
