The project aims to ensure County standards reflect current regulations, protect groundwater resources, support public health, and meet the needs of local communities. The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in the Butte County Human Resources Training Rooms East and West, 3 County Center Drive in Oroville. Community members will have an opportunity to learn about the project, ask questions and share feedback. Community input will play an important role throughout the process. Feedback gathered from surveys, public meetings and other outreach efforts will help identify priorities and inform future updates. "We want to hear from the people who use, maintain, install and rely on water wells and septic systems every day," said Elaine McSpadden, BCPH’s Environmental Health Division Director. “Their experiences and feedback will help us better understand what's working well and where improvements may be needed." Those unable to attend the meeting can still participate by completing one or both online surveys by August 21: Water Well Survey: tinyurl.com/BCwellsurvey Septic System Survey: tinyurl.com/BCseptic For more information about the project, upcoming engagement opportunities and project updates, visit: www.buttecounty.net/2273/Well-Septic-Ordinance-Updates ### Please note that my email has changed.
