California State Fair
The Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) is pleased to invite local elected
officials, city and county staff, District Agricultural Associations, and regulatory
partners to the inaugural Responsible Retail Access Day, held as part of the
California Cannabis Experience at the 2026 State Fair on July 28, at 1:30 p.m.
This event will offer an afternoon of education, conversation, and
collaboration centered on the policies, public health considerations, and
partnerships that help communities implement effective and responsible legal
retail sales.
Attendees will hear directly from DCC leadership, licensed cannabis operators,
and of course each other! The day’s events will start before the California
Cannabis Experience opens to the public and will feature:
Opening remarks from DCC Director Clint Kellum
A tour of the exhibit and licensed temporary cannabis event premises
A round table discussion about responsible retail access
An opportunity to participate in a second tour led by DCC
leadership when the exhibit, sales, and consumption area opens
Refreshments and snacks will be available for those who attend and
registration is required.
