RE: South Feather Power Project (FERC No. 2088)
Updated inundation mapping files for Miners Ranch Dam
Dear Mr. Blackett,
This letter transmits the South Feather Water and Power Agency’s (SFWPA) updates to the Miners Ranch Dam
(MRD) “Sunny Day Failure” scenarios for the main dam, and the Bangor Canal Low-level Outlet Headworks. For
inundation maps prepared prior to 2017, the MRD low-level outlet was not considered separately, as a critical
appurtenant structure, during the modeling and mapping efforts. In order to comply with the California Code of
Regulations, the California Department of Water Resources, Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD) requested that
this additional mapping had to be completed and incorporated in the Emergency Action Plan.
Upon receiving approval of the modeling and mapping files by DSOD in early 2022, SFWPA was not successful in
transmitting these files to the Commission during the period of working from home due to the COVID pandemic.
If you have any questions related to this transmittal, please feel free to contact me at (530) 532-1348, or via
email at kmckillop@southfeather.com.
Sincerely,
South Feather Water and Power Agency
