Subject: Request for Board Review: General Assistance Denial Based on Primary Home Value Policy
Dear Butte County Board of Supervisors,
I am requesting a review of my General Assistance denial. I was denied because the value of
my primary residence exceeds the allowable property limit, even though I have no income,
savings, bank account, or other available resources.
My home is my only asset and my place of residence. I cannot use the equity in my home to
pay for food, utilities, or daily living expenses without becoming homeless.
I am currently living with no income while pursuing SSI disability benefits due to disabling
health conditions. I am asking the Board to review whether hardship exceptions or policy
changes are available for residents in situations like mine.
Thank you for your consideration. I would appreciate a review of my circumstances.
