State Route 162 Overnight Lane Closures for Ongoing Project
Expect Intermittent Delays for Paving and Traffic Signal Improvements
BUTTE COUNTY – Caltrans is alerting motorists of overnight lane closures on State
Route 162 (SR 162) in Oroville that began Sunday, August 9, as crews continue work on a
$25.9 million SR 162 paving project.
Work is scheduled on the SR 162 corridor from the Feather River Bridge to Foothill
Boulevard Sunday through Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for two weeks as crews
perform paving operations and traffic signal improvements. Work also will include
installing conduits, pull boxes, controller foundations, and other traffic signal infrastructure.
Work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, August 21 at 6 a.m.
In addition to the traffic signal work at these intersections, daytime work will occur as
crews complete electrical service foundations. No lane closures will be scheduled during
the daytime work.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11
Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work
Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews
performing these improvements.
