Thank you for your continued commitment to learning, leadership, and public service. Whether
celebrating a new credential, reconnecting with fellow alumni, or preparing for the challenges
ahead, the CSAC Institute is proud to support leaders throughout every stage of their
professional journey.
This week, we are highlighting our Yuba County Campus Launch, Special Program
Reminders, and looking ahead to our upcoming virtual courses.
Yuba County Campus Launch

to be successful in the CSAC Institute Executive Credential Program and beyond.
Last Thursday, we launched the second cohort of the CSAC Institute Yuba County Campus,
bringing together participants from Yuba, Sutter, and Colusa Counties! The launch included five
Institute alumni who shared their experience and insights with the new cohort.
Yuba Deputy CAO Sean Powers and Sutter Deputy CAO Laura Granados welcomed the
participants and highlighted the importance of content as it relates to relationships. Yuba CAO
Kevin Mallen, Sutter Deputy CAO Jamme Yang, and Yuba Analyst Jenna Shinn also shared
perspectives on what leadership-in-action looks like and how participants can make the most of
their Institute experience.
These personal and powerful conversations gave participants an opportunity to hear directly
from alumni about incorporating Institute lessons into their day-to-day work. Facilitated by Paul
Danczyk, the opening session set the tone for the months ahead. As participant Heather Nall
reflected:
“Be intentional. Listen deeply, speak purposefully, and make every conversation matter.”
The Yuba County Campus will continue meeting monthly through May 2027.

Register Now for Special Programs!
Technology Credential Program
Since 2016, the CSAC Institute has collaborated with the California County Information Services
Directors Association (CCISDA) to provide the Technology Credential Program. This program is
tailored for both current and future Information Technology (IT) leaders within county
departments, allowing participants to explore in-depth leadership and technology topics, guided
by nationally recognized instructors and county IT specialists. To successfully complete the
program, participants must finish 10 courses: 5 focused on IT Leadership and 5 on CSAC
Governance or leadership.
Registration remains open through September 30. A limited number of CCISDA scholarships
are available to county IT professionals from smaller counties or those without current
representation in the program. Each scholarship covers the full $1,299 program fee.

California Realignment Training
For more than three decades, Realignment has shaped the state-county relationship and how
California counties finance and deliver critical Health & Human Services and Public Safety
programs. This two-day training moves from the historical and political decisions that shaped
Realignment to the practical mechanics county professionals navigate today.
Who Should Attend?
The program is designed for Health & Human Services leaders, fiscal professionals, and
program managers responsible for planning, financing, and administering county services. It is
also valuable for professionals who are newer to Realignment and want to build a stronger
understanding of the system and how its various pieces fit together.
