Welcome to DAN 2026
Living with dignity, being part of a community, feeling safe, maintaining health and mobility,
aging in place, being able to exercise choice – these are expectations that we all have.
Community-based supportive services are a necessary part of the equation in helping us
meet the challenges of living successfully in our communities, now and in the future.
Good morning Supervisor Byrne:
The Disability Action Center (DAC) is pleased to invite you to our 10th Annual Leadership Voices on Healthcare Direction on
Advocacy Network (DAN). The nonpartisan community education and information event will be held at the Southside
Community Center in Oroville, CA from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Our theme for this year’s event is “Winds of Change”.
Joe Cobery, Director of Passages Area Agency on Aging 3 and I would be honored to have you join our platform at 10:45 a.m.
for a 45-minute panel discussion moderated by Julia Yarbough, multiple emmy-winning journalist, family caregiving and
conservation advocate, and founder of Keeping it REAL Caregiving. Panel questions will be pre-vetted from the community on
topics such as critical healthcare, housing, and older adult social engagement concerns in light of shifting national, regional and
local policies and support infrastructure. Questions will be presented to you prior to the event to allow for your preparation.
Please let us know if this is possible, and what is required to honor and support your presence and participation.
